Assoc. Prof. Dr Stefen Koubi
Dr Stefen Koubi graduated from the Marseille University School of Dentistry, France, in 1998. From 1998 to 2001, he worked as a clinical assistant at the Hôpital Louis Mourier (Hôpitaux de Paris) in the Department of Stomatology headed by Prof. Poidatz. In addition, he was research assistant at the University of Paris V, School of Dentistry in Montrouge. In June 2001, he received the AEA diploma (clinical traineeship) and the DEA diploma (postgraduate study program) at the department headed by Prof. de Lumley of the Hôpital Nord in Marseille, France. He earned a doctorate degree in dental surgery in 2001. In the same year, he became an assistant at the department of Conservative Odontology headed by Prof. Koubi at the University Clinic of Marseille, France. Dr Koubi opened a private dental practice in Marseille in 2002. In 2004, he obtained a university diploma in oral implantology. In April 2004, he was appointed assistant professor at the Department of Conservative Odontology of the Marseille University School of Dentistry. He became Associate Professor in 2008 and earned his PhD in 2011. Moreover, he was awarded the Gold Molar by the students of Marseille University. In 2009, he established a private dental practice in Paris, France.
He is the founder of “L’institut de la facette”, a private training centre established in 2013, which mainly focuses on laminate veneer restorations and the minimally invasive rehabilitation of worn dentitions. Dr Koubi is the author of various national and international publications and reports. He has lectured internationally on the topics of esthetic dentistry, smile design, wear and erosion.

Numerous prizes and references demonstrate that Gérald Ubassy is one of the most accomplished representatives of dental laboratory science in France. He completed his initial training as a dental technician in Montpellier in 1979. In 1982, he established a private laboratory and specialized in ceramics. He won an award in the Comet-Cd Pen Contest in 1984 and received the gold medal as Best Technician in France in 1986. His publications in French and German journals and his presentations at international symposia and seminars have established his reputation well beyond France. His first technical book entitled “Shape and Colour” (published by Quintessenz in 1992) in German, French, English, Italian, and Japanese has been well received by the professional world. Another successful book entitled “Analysis – the new way in dental communication” was published by Editrice M.E.A. srl in 1996.
“Tips and tricks”, was published by teamwork media srl in 2008. His latest textbook, “Watch and do it yourself”, was published in 2016 by Gérald Ubassy.
Dr Thomas Sastre
Dr Thomas Sastre graduated from the faculty of dentistry in Lyon in 2003. He runs a private practice specializing in esthetics, functional and complex implant rehabilitations. As a former university assistant, he is involved in implantology, prosthetics and digital dentistry training as a lecturer of the University Diploma of the Faculty of Dentistry of Marseille. He also takes part in the private postgraduate training courses offered by SAPO implant in Paris. As a founder of Sens!, a group of experts in digital dentistry, Dr Thomas Sastre contributes actively to the training program as well as to numerous research activities in digital dentistry in addition to his private activity. He is also a speaker and author of numerous articles on this topic.
Dominique Vinci completed his dental lab technician training at the Centre d’enseignement professionnel technique et artisanal (CEPTA) in Geneva, Switzerland in 1983. From 1983 to 1987, he worked as a dental technician at the University of Geneva. His specializations include esthetic fixed dental prostheses and implant-supported restorations and he has more than 15 years of experience with all-ceramic systems (aluminium oxide, zirconium oxide, etc.).
From 1987 to 1988, Dominique Vinci was the owner of D. Vinci Dental Laboratory in Rome, Italy. From 1988 to 1990, he worked in the dental laboratories of A. Schöneberger in Zurich and Rome. From 1995 to 2008, he ran the Laboratoire Odontotechnique Vinci. Moreover, he was head instructor on the topic of ceramics for students of CEPTA and conducted regular hands-on courses for dental technicians. For his prosthetic work in collaboration with Prof. U. Belser of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and Occlusion (University of Geneva), he received the “best clinical case” award in 2005 together with Dr Vaillati at the International Congress of Implantology in Munich, Germany. Moreover, he participated in a clinical study involving bone level implants and zirconium oxide abutments (Straumann Anatomic IPS e.max Abutment).
Dominique Vinci has been an opinion leader for Straumann and Ivoclar Vivadent since 2008. Since 2009, he has been running his own dental laboratory and continuing education centre (Vinci Dental Concept) in Geneva.
